Dealing with long distance relationship

Next Post

I was always suspicious and extremely cautious about dealing with long distance relationships. Not only the distance that makes you ruminate but also how much time and effort needed to be exerted. Sometimes I hear people complain about how infrequently they saw their significant other because he or she live miles away. I also read that long distance relationships are becoming viable alternative to breaking up. But to most couples that are in the long-distance, it means that if they can survive the distance, they can survive anything.

“It takes two to tango.”¬†People tend to think that dealing with long distance relationship is one of the hardest possible ways of loving someone, in which I also believed. I had once understood that these kind of relationships are bizarre. But same month last year, I happened to meet someone that proved my thoughts completely wrong. A keeper.

I’m currently in a long distance relationship. I am proud to say I’m happy and more than contented. For most people, they may see it as a typical relationships similar to others. But for me, I call it the rarest. Its true that nothing more than worth having is ever easy. And I know for a fact that I want this.

Sometimes its a matter of give and take. After all, I have learned that when you have something good, you give every single thing you can. Because when you take care of something good, that something good takes good care of you even more.

I also believe that absence makes the heart grow fonder. I have discovered that distance teaches you patience, faith and trust. But it mainly teaches you the art of communication. A wise man once told me that communication is the key to a healthy relationship. Now that I have experienced the real deal of confusion and misunderstandings, I can personally say that I now have a better understanding towards the importance of communication. And for those who are and will be dealing with long distance relationship, do not be afraid to express yourself. It is important to let your partner know how you feel about everything.

Remember, its every partner’s job to listen and be there no matter what. In every relationship both must work together to keep the love and affection, keep in mind that ‘it takes two to tango’. On the other hand, being in a long distance relationship requires respect. If you and your partner have good sense of respect, everything eventually fall into the right place.

I have learned and still learning. I’m not afraid of taking risks and I certainly don’t regret any decisions I have made for I absorbed every lesson it taught me. Long distance relationships are for strong people who are willing to stay committed no matter what happen.
